So, tonight was fun. Queen Extravaganza with my uncle and Nikk at the House of Blues. I was a bit underwhelmed at first, what with having seen the Queen tribute earlier last year, but it picked up in the second half of the show.
I didn’t realize there would be four singers, and I was only expecting this one guy, Marc Martel (who is this dude who looks and sounds like Freddie, but is still notably different). Nikk and I soon navigated through the four singers and dubbed them: rocker guy, the chick, that other guy, and the Freddie guy (Martel). Mmm. Queen music live.
- I cried during Under Pressure, as always. I collapsed in happy and my vision was clouded by HAPPY CRIES.
- I was the lonely scream two seconds into the One Vision intro, and lost my voice in the lyrics.
- I think I slapped a woman during Don’t Stop Me Now.
- There is a chance I was acting out the lyrics in mad gesticulation to Love of My Life. Mfff, that song.
- Radio Ga Ga was all the dancing. You know what, all the songs were all the dancing.
- “TOO MUCH METAL FOR ONE HAAAAND. AHHH.” -Nikk
So, this was going around Facebook as a personal automated “what ____ thinks I do” meme.
…Seems about right.
- Bad morning made better by the weather
- Stuffed peppers, coffee, electric fans
- Relative’s place for bbq and chill time
- Watching the kids derp around the blow-up pool
- YOUNG JUSTICE AHHHH
- My 5 year old cousin bit my cheek (what)
- Bubble tea and wading on the beach at dusk
- Fire pit, wind, lawn chairs, talking business with the adults
- …First surprise birthday cake ever, and singing; even the kids were in on it
Best cry/ugly cry/ninja cry
Cousin blows out my candle
The “20” on the cake makes it feel official - Talk with Kim on the way home; catharsis
- Remember that people can be good, and that no matter how difficult a situation is, you can always think of something to smile about and be thankful for.
Thank you, everyone, for all your birthday wishes and gestures.
It was a pretty great birthday, and I have the people in my life to thank for that. I can’t really say anything else right now ‘cause I’m pretty full up on sushi and coffee (thanks Nikk), but I can very honestly, and sincerely say: thank you. I had almost forgotten that people can be kind at their core.
There’s a huge ass bug in my room, oh god.
hi, i’m 20 now.
It’s late.
Page 2/13 of my comic, May City.
Based around a poem I had to do for class last year, May City is a lyrical comic that goes through a biographical account of a dream I once had about the moon.
I might upload the rest.
Last post in the dorms. Sorry for all the personal face-blogging lately, but this is the last ‘cause I don’t have internet in my apartmet yet. HUZZAH!
DONE, DONE, DONE, DONE. DONE DONE DONE. DONE.
Day 55:
Day bed. Last morning in the dorms. Last morning living in the Loop. Last sunrise, waking up and living in the Loop.
Clean up, check out, tonight’s in the apartment.
Day 54:
Night photo. Well, last night in the dorms, and this is what’s happened. Stayed up all night packing everything and at midnight we loaded everything by hand into a van, and made two trips to the apartment. Finished at around 4:15am. Dunkin’ Donuts. And now we’re back.
Sleep.
Goodbye, dorm.
FUCK YEAH. Just took my last shower in the dorms and now I’ve gotta go pack ALL THE THINGS.
The next time I shower will be…I have no idea where. No heat in my apartment yet.
- Just finished my second year of college.
- Day was awful, but the sun is up and my comic critique went…incredibly well.
- Professor - an OUT THERE comic artist - said to me in private:
“You are a very, very talented comic artist…Absolutely phenomenal comic artist; your technique of the comic language is insanely perfected, and your line-work is so NUTTS. Pursue it. Never give it up. You can rock this town.”
>Thank you Beth Hetland ; o; - Caramel frappuccino and finally moving out of the dorm in two days
